Thomas Jefferson wrote "The Jefferson Bible" (a.k.a. "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth) in an attempt to understand the doctrine of Jesus. He removed passages from the New Testament that he believe to be too supernatural in nature or were the Evangelists misinterpretations of Jesus deeds.
